BigChokeGolf is a Monterey County–based golf club built on friendship, competition, and community. What started as a group of guys getting together six times a year to play golf has grown into a league committed to giving back. In addition to our regular league and tournaments, our members participate in various charity events and proudly support youth golf programs such as First Tee of Monterey County and Youth on Course. We believe in creating opportunities, strengthening connections, and helping introduce the game we love to the next generation.
What Members Are Saying…
“Big Choke Golf is golf personified. Why do we play golf? We play to build relationships, remove ourselves from the daily hustle and bustle and most importantly, to have FUN. At Big Choke Golf, we do just that. We have an amazing mix of individuals from all age ranges and experience levels. The reason we play together is to maintain our old friendships, while building new ones, while playing a sport we all love. It doesn't get much better than that. This started as a group of 12 friends who wanted to play golf together 6 times a year and a different course every time. To see the group grow to over 40 people in just a few years is a testament to strong relationships we have with one another in our small community. We're looking forward to maximizing our resources now to give back to that small community (children/schools/sports programs) in our local area that we all take pride in. Adelante, Big Choke Golf!”
— Micah Murphy (Field Performance Manager)
“I appreciate the fact that we began as a small group of friends who got together every so often to play golf, and turned into an organization that is beginning to help out our community. I am extremely proud to be associated with Big Choke Golf and I'm looking forward to seeing the difference we can make for the youth of our community.”
— Francisco Padilla (Educator)
“I am really glad I joined the group. Met a lot of great people and my golf game has gotten better. I am also impressed how organized the group is. I like the vision the group has by giving back to the youth of the North County community.”
